5th meet and greet with Bernardo Neuville

"When I joined Usercentrics I was unemployed. I wanted to work on a place that had their own product and a startup philosophy, so I saw this as a great opportunity."

Why did you decide to join Usercentrics?

When I joined Usercentrics I was unemployed. I wanted to work in a place that had its own product and a startup philosophy, so I saw this as a great opportunity.

What are your main responsibilities?

I work as a Customer Success Engineer in the Technical Support Team. We deal with the technical support of our product. Any question or problem that our client brings to the table is up to us to resolve. If it is something that is related to our internal code, then it’s up to our developers. We are like the middleware of the process.

How was your onboarding process?

It was great! The Tech Support Team has been great with me, they’ve helped me learn and with any doubts that I had through my path with Usercentrics. The people are really nice and even the Senior Devs are always well disposed and open to talk and answer any doubts. So far I love every minute that I have with my team. The work is hard, but it is rewarding when you close a ticket.‍

What are the biggest challenges in starting to work remotely? Did change something in your lifestyle?

Working at home for me is a big challenge. There is way too much clutter to distract me, so I try to work outside my home or from my comfort zone, but sadly COVID isn’t helping with that. So the biggest challenge to me is to learn how to abstract myself from my comfort zone here at home and establish a healthy workplace where I can be 100% focused on my work.

How is your daily routine?

Wake up at 7:15 AM, breakfast, shower and a prayer before work (catholic man). I work until 1:00 PM where I lunch and return to work at 2:00 PM. After that, I work until 5:00 PM and then I end my work.

How do you keep in contact with your team?

Slack and Google Hangouts.

What is the biggest advantage of starting to work remotely at a company?

Time Management. When I have this freedom to work in any workplace, I can be more efficient with time, because I don’t have to worry about the Train Schedule. Public Transports can be really bothersome especially during these hard times.‍

How did Softlanding supported you in this stage?

I have to thank Softlanding for this job. Really, I hardly had to do anything other than attend the interviews and pass them. I contacted Softlanding, made an account and I didn’t apply for any job. Suddenly, Caetana calls me and says that she has the perfect job. And boom, after 2 awesome interviews here I am, happy with my job.
